Purpose
Every volunteer represents Theos Transforming Ministries and Doruka Ministries and must serve with integrity, humility, respect and accountability.
Required Conduct
- Follow lawful instructions, role boundaries, safeguarding rules and safety requirements.
- Treat every person fairly without harassment, exploitation, discrimination or humiliation.
- Protect confidential beneficiary, donor and ministry information.
- Use ministry money, property, vehicles, accounts and communication channels only as authorised.
- Declare conflicts of interest and refuse improper gifts or personal benefits.
- Keep accurate attendance, activity and expense records.
- Report incidents, injuries, safeguarding concerns, losses and suspected wrongdoing promptly.
- Obtain approval before public statements, fundraising, photography or use of ministry branding.
Prohibited Conduct
Abuse, sexual exploitation, corporal punishment, intoxication during service, theft, fraud, private fundraising in the ministry’s name, unauthorised disclosure, retaliation and romantic or exploitative relationships with beneficiaries are prohibited.
Working With Children
Volunteers must follow the Child Safeguarding Policy, maintain visible and appropriate boundaries, avoid private contact and never transport, photograph or interview a child without approval and appropriate consent.
Attendance and Expenses
Volunteering does not automatically create employment or entitlement to payment. Approved expenses require prior authorisation and evidence. Absence or inability to serve should be reported promptly.
Breaches
Concerns will be assessed fairly. Measures may include guidance, retraining, restricted duties, suspension, ending the volunteer role, recovery of property or referral to appropriate authorities.
Acknowledgement
Volunteers may be required to sign an acknowledgement confirming that they have read, understood and will follow this Code and related policies.
